If you have missed hearing Mr. Perry speak, you have missed something grand and -- ain't no other way to say it -- something purely Cheesehead and purely wonderful. He puts on no airs, just goes ahead talks to a crowd as if he might be sitting on a stump nearabouts to Foggy Crossing, extolling the virtues of sunny days and the proper rotation of crops in the fields.  But his manner, as in the best of country storyspinners, will deceive you.  What he's got to say will make you think, and think long and hard, about the world and the way we live in it. Find a stump, friends, and prepare to hear something you'll never forget.

- Professor Mike Magnuson, author of The Right Man for the Job (Harper Flamingo) and The Fire Gospels (Harper Flamingo)

Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College:

"Thank you for making the 1999 WITC Emergency Conference a success with your presentation.  Most comments about the conference, both written and verbal, were very positive.  I believe this conference provides a service to our area emergency professionals and your participation is greatly appreciated.  I hope you will be willing to present at future conferences."

(The following comments are from seminar evaluation forms)

"Very energetic, kept interest."
"Excellent way to start a seminar."
"Thoroughly enjoyed...appreciated the ending."
"Very creative!"
"I really enjoyed the death piece."
"Funny."
"Mike does a great job.  Have him back next year."

And then, in the interest of fairness, and because I can take it, there was this one apparently negative comment - not sure if it was about me or Mother Goose:

"I have never, even as a child, enjoyed being read to."
